Peston Padamji Ginwala : ウィキペディア英語版 | Peston Padamji Ginwala Peston Padamji Ginwala (9 February 1919 – 2 July 2008) also known as Pesi Ginwala was a noted senior barrister from India, working at Calcutta High Court. ==Life-sketch== He was born on 9 February 1919 at Rangoon〔 to Sir Padamji Pestonji Ginwala also a noted barrister, economist and public figure of British India and British Burma.〔 Peston had done his education from Charterhouse School, London, completed his law at Balliol College, Oxford and was called at bar at Inner Temple.〔 He moved to Calcutta in 1945 and started his career at Calcutta High Court.〔 Peston was married to Hilla, in whose name he also later started a scholarship named The Hilla Ginwala Scholarship worth £10,000 per year for needy students from India, willing to study at Oxford University〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://ousi.org/ous/scholarships )〕 He was noted for his legal acumen and expertise.〔〔 He also served as a director in various companies like Indian Iron & Steel Co.〔Investor's India Year Book by George Harvey Le Maistre, Place, Siddons and Gough, Calcutta Place, Siddons and Gough - 1965- Page 383〕 promoted by Calcutta-based industrialist, Sir Ranjen Mookerjee and others.〔Who's who in India, 1986 : Guide Publications :pp 150〕〔Calcutta Stock Exchange Official Year Book 1980 pp: 330〕 He died in Kolkata in July 2008.〔The Parsees of Calcutta by Dalia Ray – 2005 – Page 56〕
